My very first post on this blog! YAY! I started back at university last week and I forgot how much work it was so I’ve been a bit busy. But today I thought I would begin just with something small yet delish just to get it all going. I have been up to some pretty exciting baking lately and I have a lot of exciting things planned for this blog and can’t wait to share it all with you so stay tuned! I felt like a smoothie and thought why not share my favourite smoothie with the world. I am a smoothie lover, they are just so easy and quick to make when you need something to eat. This smoothie is so scrumptious and it’s such a great option for breakfast or a snack or a pre-workout drink/snack. I make this smoothie all the time, any time of day. Another awesome thing about smoothies is you can usually change things up to suit what like or to what you have in your cupboard.
I think a vital ingredient I LOVE in smoothies is COCONUT CREAM. Honestly, you only need a small amount of coconut cream and it will make your smoothie the creamiest, smoothiest, yummiest smoothie. Not to forget coconut cream is also so lovely and healthy for you. If you don’t like coconut then just substitute some greek yogurt but trust me you would be missing out!
This smoothie is a creamy berry chocolatey smoothie and is full of goodness and deliciousness.
Anna’s Choco-Coco-berry Smoothie
1 cup frozen mixed berries
1/2 scoop vanilla whey protein (or a protein of your choice)
1 TBSP ground linseed
1 TBSP raw cacao
1/4 cup coconut cream
1 cup unsweetened Almond Milk (or sweetened)
Throw all the ingredients in a blender and BLEND AWAY! I topped mine with some coconut chips purely for decoration!
I must say I tried cacao nibs on my smoothie the other week and they were awfully bitter. I see people using cacao nibs on their smoothies quite often but I don’t understand why.. Do you?
Please let me know what you think and whether you tried out this smoothie recipe! I would love to hear some of your favourite smoothie ingredients too. 😀
