Lorde inspired look feat. Mac Pure Heroine Lipstick

Hi everyone!

Pure Heroine
Isn’t it beautiful? I love vibrant lipsticks and I love purples so this was definitely a must have for me! Something I love about buying MAC lipsticks is that I know I am not going to be disappointed. All the MAC lipsticks I have tried are always long lasting and creamy and pleasurable to wear. I love dark lip colours for the Autumn/Winter seasons! I’ve also added in my dark nail colour of the moment! Hope you enjoy! 🙂

About the lipstick! Colour wise, it seems to be quite comparable to an inbetween mixture of the lipsticks Heroine and Cyber by MAC. It looks very dark in the evening, but in the daylight you can see the vibrancy of the purple. I feel that it is a proper purple and has the perfect balance of bluey-purple-ness and magenta-purple-ness in it. So pretty.  The texture is creamy and smooth to apply. The only thing for me is that I find I need to apply a lip liner with it to stop it from feathering over time, but this is probably personal as that happens a lot for me even though I don’t have significantly wrinkled lips or anything hahaha whywhywhy! So I paired it with a beautiful, luxurious lip liner by Chanel.

The Look

Here is my Lorde inspired look, not exactly the same obviously but my take on it. I noticed that although the liquid eyeliner is usually the makeup we would think of when thinking of Lorde, in a fair amount of photos she wore dark lipstick without liner and then only neutral coloured shadows. I was inspired by a look which had very warm, neutral, almost-orangey shadow, which is very flattering for blue eyes I believe. Semi-glowy skin with bronze and contouring and of course purple lipstick.

The eyes

For this look I used makeup geek shadows peach smoothie (light peachy colour) in the crease, and then also in inner and outer corners with a light amount of chickadee (a nice orange) to create depth, and lastly some shimma shimma on the lid and inner tear duct. I used nyx jumbo pencil in Milk in the waterline and a little MAC studio finish concealer in NC15 to tone the white down. And to finish off mascara on the top lashes!

Products I used:

Benefit Porefessional Primer
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Siberia
Collection concealer in fair (the labels rubbed off)
Nyx Blush in Taupe
Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Golden Light 01
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Brow Pomade in Chocolate
Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium/Deep
Makeup Geek Shadows Peach Smoothie, Chickadee, and Shimma Shimma.
Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Collection Does it all 5 in 1 Mascara
Chanel Precision Lip Definer in Amarante
MAC Pure Heroine

Essie nailpolish in Carry on.

I think this nail polish goes perfectly with the theme of dark purpley colours, and would go well with a lovely dark lip colour like this. Perfect look for winter!
